Your phone and your PC read your notifications out loud, so you don’t have to look at the screen. Choose which apps, which people and when — and hear the rest later.
Android: coming soon to Google Play. Windows: Microsoft Store, Windows 10 (1809) or later. iPhone is not supported: iOS does not let apps read other apps’ notifications.
Free, on your device
- You choose the apps. WhatsApp yes, games no. New apps can start muted until you turn them on.
- Each message in its own language. The app detects the language of every message (51 languages) and uses a voice in that language when your device has one.
- Private reading styles. Read the whole message, only who wrote it (“Message from Ana”), or only the app.
- No repeats. When a chat app republishes the whole conversation, only the new message is read. Bursts become “and 5 more messages”.
- Quiet hours, and your system’s Do Not Disturb comes first. On Android and on Windows 11 the app stays silent while Do Not Disturb is on.
- Headphones only, screen off only, and it stops the moment you unplug your headphones (Android).
- Keeps reading in the background: from the notification area on Windows, where it can also start with Windows.
In the free version the voice is your device’s own, and nothing about your notifications leaves your phone or PC.
Premium, with your Read My Document plan
- Natural voices from the Read My Document cloud — neural, Chirp HD and studio voices, depending on your plan — with the device voice as automatic fallback.
- VIP contacts: “only read WhatsApp messages from Mom”. In groups, what counts is who writes.
- Keywords that are always read (“urgent”) or never read (“promo”).
- A voice and a reading style for each app.
- Break through when it matters: pick the apps or contacts that may be read even during quiet hours or Do Not Disturb. Optional, and off by default.
- “What did I miss?” — a short AI summary of your recent notifications, only when you ask for it.
There is nothing extra to buy: it is the same plan you use in Word, Outlook, Google Docs, the web app and the browser extension. Sign in with your Read My Document account and premium unlocks. Don’t have a plan yet? See the plans in the Read My Document web app.
Your notifications stay yours
Deciding what to read, detecting the language and building the sentence all happen on your device, and the history of the last 7 days stays there too — it is not even included in cloud backups. The text of a notification only leaves your device if you use a premium voice or ask for a summary, and then it is processed and discarded, never stored and never used to train models. The app does not ask for your contacts, microphone or location. Read the privacy policy and the terms of use.
Questions
It stopped reading on my Android phone. Some manufacturers close background apps to save battery. The app’s Diagnostics screen checks access and battery settings and links to the steps for your phone brand.
Can it read my messages in the car? If your phone is connected to Android Auto, the app pauses by default, because Android Auto already reads your messages. Never handle your phone while driving.
