Your Read My Document account is the same in the mobile app, Word, Outlook, Google Docs, the web app and the browser extension. Deleting it deletes it everywhere. You can do it yourself from the app, or ask us by email.
Before you delete it
If you have a paid plan that will renew, cancel it first: deleting the account does not stop the payment provider from charging you. Cancel it in Read My Document on the web (Plans › Cancel), or, for a plan bought with a work or school account, in the Microsoft 365 admin center. The app will not delete an account whose plan would still be charged.
Delete it from the app
- Open Read My Document and go to Account.
- Sign in, if you are not signed in, with the account you want to delete.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
The deletion happens immediately.
Ask us by email
If you no longer have the app, write to support@birdie.cl from the email address of your account, with the subject “Delete my Read My Document account”, and tell us how you sign in (Microsoft, Google or Apple). We may ask you to confirm that the account is yours. We delete it within 30 days, and usually much sooner, and reply when it is done.
What is deleted
- Your account and every sign-in linked to it (Microsoft, Google, Apple).
- Your plan and usage records, your character packs (any unused balance is lost), and your pronunciation dictionary.
- The record of the billing emails we sent you.
What is kept, and for how long
- Payment records are kept by the company that processed the payment (Polar or Microsoft), as tax and accounting law requires. We cannot delete them.
- Diagnostic and usage telemetry (crash reports and app events, which never contain the text of your documents) expires on its own after 90 days.
- Your documents are never uploaded: they stay on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app.
Eliminar tu cuenta (español)
Tu cuenta de Read My Document es la misma en la app móvil, Word, Outlook, Google Docs, la app web y la extensión del navegador. Eliminarla la elimina en todas partes.
- Antes: si tienes un plan de pago que se renovará, cancélalo primero en Read My Document en la web (Planes › Cancelar) o, si lo compraste con una cuenta de trabajo o estudios, en el centro de administración de Microsoft 365. La app no elimina una cuenta cuyo plan se seguiría cobrando.
- Desde la app: abre Cuenta, inicia sesión con la cuenta que quieres eliminar, toca Eliminar cuenta y confirma. Se elimina en el momento.
- Por correo: escribe a support@birdie.cl desde el correo de tu cuenta, con el asunto «Eliminar mi cuenta de Read My Document», e indica cómo inicias sesión (Microsoft, Google o Apple). La eliminamos en un plazo de 30 días, normalmente mucho antes, y te avisamos.
- Se elimina: la cuenta y todos los inicios de sesión enlazados, el plan y los registros de uso, las bolsas de caracteres (el saldo sin usar se pierde), el diccionario de pronunciación y el registro de los correos de facturación.
- Se conserva: los registros de pago, en poder de quien procesó el pago (Polar o Microsoft), como exige la ley; la telemetría de diagnóstico y uso, que nunca contiene el texto de tus documentos, caduca sola a los 90 días. Tus documentos nunca se suben: quedan en tu dispositivo hasta que los borres o desinstales la app.
